Char Dham Yatra Update

State Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, speaking to the media, announced that pilgrims are now banned from taking videos or making short clips within 50 meters of the temple area.

This decision comes because people are worried about keeping the temples holy and respecting the feelings of the worshippers. While mobile phones are allowed, taking videos or making short films near the temples is not allowed.

The Char Dham Yatra Sees Huge Response

This year, the Char Dham Yatra has seen a huge response, with over 26 lakh devotees registering from all over India and other countries. Commissioner Garhwal Division Vinay Shankar Pandey said that more than 1.42 lakh registrations were done in person at counters in Haridwar and Rishikesh. Interestingly, this year’s number of people visiting has doubled compared to last year.

The pilgrimage routes have been bustling, with Kedarnath alone receiving over one lakh devotees since its doors opened on May 10. A total of 2,76,416 devotees have visited the Char Dham shrines so far, setting a new record. In just four days, 1,26,306 devotees reached Kedarnath, highlighting the immense faith and devotion associated with this sacred journey.

Additionally, Chief Secretary Raturi emphasized that mobile phones should not be used within a 200-meter distance from the Char Dham temple premises. Furthermore, she warned that legal action would be taken against those spreading false information or harming the yatra through videos.

As the pilgrimage continues, authorities stay watchful to ensure a safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for all devotees. The Char Dham Yatra remains a beloved tradition, and these actions aim to protect its sacredness while accommodating the increasing number of pilgrims.
