Athirapally Waterfalls
The Chalakudy River which originates from the source of the Western Ghats. The magnificent, 80 feet high and 330 feet wide. Athirapally waterfalls of Kerala deserves the title of Niagara Falls of India. The Chalakudy River flows through the Vazhachal Forest Department. Situated in the area of Chalakudy River and sholayar, Athirapalli waterfalls is quite enticing to its visitors.

Athirapally waterfalls from a height of 24 meters and joins the river below. The experience of traveling to this waterfall is very fascinating. The waterfall can be seen from different places. The road which leads to the forest can also be seen from the waterfall. You have to buy a ticket and go through the main entrance. There are small restaurants and coffee shops for the tourists to relax. Roads built in this area to allow traffic to run smoothly. However, you should be careful when traveling on those roads. For the second view you can go down to waterfall. The most beautiful view is under the waterfall, where you can see the water falling.
Monsoon enhances the attraction of this waterfall. However, trekking during monsoon can be dangerous. You can also find local fishermen who fishing here and children swimming in the water, although swimming is not allow during the rains. It is difficult to narrate the entire experience, just go there and feel the magic of Athirapally Waterfalls.

• Wear comfortable sports shoes, because you need to walk.
• Walking in monsoon is good, but later you may have to do some difficulties. It is best to go there in summer and spring.
